The Executive Committee of the African Football Federation (CAF) confirmed that the postponed 2022 FIFA World Cup Africa Qualifiers will be held from September to March after the most recent meeting held today in Kigali, Rwanda.

The competition will be held in the current window in September, October, and November this year and March 2022.

These events were originally scheduled to take place in June but were postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.

Morocco and Egypt won the right to host the men's and women's Champions League finals to be held later this year.

The Executive Committee also approved Benin as the host of the 2020-2021 Confederations Cup final.

Egypt has also been appointed as the host of the Under-20 African Nations Cup in 2023, while Algeria will host the Under-17 Nations Cup in the same year.

The 2022 Africa Cup of Beach Football has also been confirmed to be held in Mozambique.

Present at the meeting were President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Minister of Sports Orol Mimosa Muyangaju.

Kagame delivered welcoming speeches to African Football Association President Patrice Mosepe and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, emphasizing the relationship between football and African development.
